A brace cut to make room for a service
Structural capacity removed by somebody who needed the space.
In short: A brace cut clean through on a Marsden Park lock-up.
What a brace does
Carries lateral load into the frame and down to the slab, sized against the wind classification for your lot.
What we recorded
A brace cut through on a Marsden Park build, almost certainly by a following trade needing a route for a service.
Why it happens
It is rarely deliberate. Something needs a path, the brace is across it, and the fastest route wins.
Why nobody finds it later
Plaster goes on within days and the wall reads identically whether the brace is intact or not.
What to do
Book lock-up. It is the only stage where this is visible, and on these jobs it was the single most consequential finding.
